Terms, in plain language
No jargon. What a bridge is, what you sign and what you pay — in plain words.
Swap vs bridge
A swap trades one asset for another on the same chain. A bridge moves value to a different chain, where the destination asset is released according to that bridge’s own design.
Route
The exact chain of swaps and bridges that carries your asset from source to destination. AEXI scores the available options on price, fees and time, then shows you the network cost, price impact and estimated arrival.
Slippage
How much the price may move while your transaction settles. You set the tolerance and see the minimum you will receive before you sign — if the market moves beyond it, the transaction reverts instead of filling worse.
Fees
Three separate numbers, all quoted in USD before you sign: the network cost to send your transaction, the fee charged by the swap or bridge provider, and the price impact of the trade itself.
Approval
Before the first trade of a token, you approve the contract that is allowed to spend it. That approval keeps working for later swaps with the same contract until you revoke it or it expires. Approving itself never moves funds.
Self-custody
AEXI builds and prices the route, but only your wallet can sign it. If a route fails part-way, whether and when your source funds come back depends on the provider handling that leg — the transaction trace shows the current state.
